New residential and retail space built in the last 10 years has brought much more to the DC side of Takoma along 4^th St NW and Carroll St NW, including Cedar Crossing, Horace & Dickies, and Busboys & Poets. Takoma Park Transportation & Location

Takoma has its own self-named Metro station on the Red Line, and several bus lines run through the area. The neighborhood is very pedestrian-friendly. Blair Rd NW and Georgia Ave NW provide direct routes to downtown DC and also out to Silver Spring, Maryland and the Capital Beltway (just 3 miles away).

Takoma lies within Northwest DC, and its borders are roughly Eastern Ave NW and Montgomery County, Maryland to the northeast, Van Buren St NW, Blair Rd NW, and Aspen St NW to the south, and Georgia Ave NW to the west.
