Kent Features & Amenities
While Kent is almost entirely residential, there is a small commercial area along MacArthur Blvd NW that includes a few restaurants. Listrani’s Italian Gourmet & Pizzeria is a Kent favorite, and Belgian joints Et Voila! and Sur La Table are gaining a following. There are many more dining and shopping options for residents in the nearby Palisades and Georgetown neighborhoods. Battery Kemble Park along the eastern side of the neighborhood offers a great escape, and the Capital Crescent Trail is also close by.
Kent Property Information
Kent is one of the westernmost neighborhoods in Washington, DC, and a very desirable place to live. It is often confused as being part of its neighbor to the south, Palisades, which actually runs in a strip along the Potomac River. Arizona Avenue NW divides Kent into western and eastern sections. The western suburban section is hilly and consists of Colonial-style homes built mostly in the 1930’s and 1940’s. The eastern, more rural area has its roots in the mid to late 1800’s.
Kent Transit & Location
There is no Metro station in the area but three Metrobus lines serve the neighborhood: D5, D6, and M4. The Chain Bridge is located just a few blocks from Kent, and leads to Virginia and the George Washington Memorial Parkway. MacArthur Blvd NW provides a direct route in to Georgetown and out to the Maryland suburbs. The Capital Beltway is about five miles away.
Kent is located in Northwest DC and its borders are Loughboro Rd NW and Sibley Hospital to the north, Chain Bridge Rd NW and Battery Kemble Park to the east, and MacArthur Blvd NW to the southwest.
