Wisconsin Ave NW is the main area of commercial activity, and includes neighborhood favorites Cactus Cantina, 2 Amy’s, and District 2 Bar & Grille. There are many more retail options for residents to the north in Tenleytown and Friendship Heights and to the south in Georgetown. Beautiful Glover-Archbold Park, which runs along the western side of the neighborhood.
Cathedral Heights is a stately residential neighborhood in DC that includes the area to the west and north of the magnificent National Cathedral. There are two primary options for real estate in the area: large-scale condo and co-op buildings along Wisconsin Avenue NW and Tudor or colonial detached row houses to the west of that strip. Condominium complexes include the Westchester, Idaho Terrace, and the Warwick. For those looking for a quiet, removed location, Cathedral Heights is a great choice.
There is no Metro stop in the Cathedral Heights neighborhood, although Tenleytown-AU Station is just north of the area. There are also a few Metrobus lines that serve Cathedral Heights. Massachusetts Ave NW provides a direct route into downtown DC and Wisconsin Ave NW offers a thoroughfare out into Montgomery County, Maryland, and the Capital Beltway (less than six miles away). The Chain Bridge into Virginia is less than three miles to the west and the Key Bridge less than four miles south. Parking is not a problem in the neighborhood.
Cathedral Heights is situated within Northwest DC, and its boundaries are Van Ness St NW to the north, Wisconsin Ave NW to the east, Fulton St NW to the south, and Massachusetts Ave NW, Glover Archbold Park, and Nebraska Ave NW to the west.
