Park View, much like adjacent neighborhoods Columbia Heights and Petworth, has become increasingly popular within the last five years and the development of new homes to accommodate new residents has been going at a substantial clip. There have been several new builds in the neighborhood including The V and The Warder, as well as a strong showing of conversions like The Helicopter Factory, and renovations such as The Parkview and The McMillan. The 625 Park Road condominium combines both development practices quite deftly.
The main building of the New Commandment Baptist Church was purchased five years ago, with an aim at tearing down and re-building. Along the way, neighbors chimed in and achieved historic designation for the site--thereby preventing its demolition. Amir Khan, the new owner, took the apples and very wisely made applesauce.

Street-facing units in the former church will stand out with original stained-glass windows and top-level units in the new addition will include even higher 16-foot ceilings as well as private roof decks.
Park View remains predominantly residential with a vibrant and growing commercial corridor on Georgia Avenue NW, including great spots such as Colony Club, DC Reynolds and Midlands Beer Garden. Further north on Georgia Avenue NW, a few steps into Petworth will bring you to a recently renovated Safeway, Yes! Organic Market, and a thoughtfully planned selection of local establishments--all of which have been influential in the neighborhood’s renaissance. To the west, Columbia Heights features retail variety on 14th Street NW and plenty of great local eats and drinks on 11th Street NW.
Now is truly the perfect time to consider buying a home in Park View and 625 Park Road NW is shaping up to be a fantastic option. There is already plenty of buzz about the neighborhood, but there is still great potential for growth in sight. The trail has been blazed, and the time before everyone wants a piece grows shorter every day.
