Dog Parks in Dupont Circle probably aren’t the first amenity that comes to mind when you think of this trendy D.C. community, bustling with restaurants, bars and highly-priced studios.

But increasingly, homeowners are calling for more pet-friendly features in their neighborhoods and Dupont is one community that has responded. Dog Parks in Dupont Circle are not obvious. The S Stree Dog Park, tucked just south of Adams Morgan and North of Dupont Circle on New Hampshire Avenue at 17th Street is perhaps the most handy dog park to resident of Dupont Circle.

Like many dog parks in D.C., the dog parks in Dupont Circle like the S Street Dog Park are maintained by the Department of Parks and Recreation, along with, of course the dog owners themselves.

Two unit properties in Washington, DC used to be a hassle. But now the mayor of DC, Vincent Gray, is encouraging population density by making it easier for homeowners to create two unit properties. This is all part of the mayor’s Sustainable DC Plan released this month. The proposal aims to make DC “the healthiest, greenest, and most livable” city in the country over the next two decades.

By 2032, the plan targets to add 250,000 new residents to the DC population. Where are all of these people going to live? Right now, DC has approximately 300,000 residential units, which includes houses, condos, cooperatives, and apartments.

In order to allow for the influx of new residents, Action 1.4 of the Built Environment section of the Sustainable DC Plan aims…

After nine months to a year of renovation, they plan to open a new bistro with a beer garden on the back patio.

A Columbia Heights property auction will take place next week on Wednesday, February 27 at 1 PM. That’s just one hour after the auction in the Trinidad neighborhood. So if you don’t win the first one, you can head to the next one!

The Columbia Heights property auction is for a three-level 1,116-square-foot townhouse at 758 Fairmont Street, NW between Sherman and Georgia Avenues.  You may recall that that the Sherman Avenue Streetscape project recently upgraded the neighborhood -- adding a median with trees, sidewalks, and more.  The location is also walking distance to the Metro and Howard University.  In addition, the property is just blocks from the shops and restaurants on 11th Street, which the New York Times calls the new “hip strip” in…

A real estate auction in Trinidad will take place next week on Wednesday, February 27 at noon. If you’ve been priced out of the market, want to design your own new home, or are a real estate investor, this might be the opportunity for you.

new_app_for_tracking_buses_in_dc_400

A new iPhone app for tracking buses in D.C. is now available, making it easier for residents to rely on transportation options beyond Metro and cabs.

Called BusTrackDC, the new app for tracking buses in D.C. launched earlier this month in an effort to replace the now-defunct NextBus app that so many residents relied heavily on to plan their bus travels around the city.

BusTrackDC is free and adds what one reviewer calls “much needed competition to the D.C. Bus app market.” The new app for tracking buses in D.C. is also open source as the developer, Jason Rosenbaum, says he hopes people with devices other than the iPhone can adapt the technology to work on other platforms.

This is a two unit in the southern part of Trinidad in northeast DC.  Great buy and hold property.  The Trinidad area is seeing record sales so it make sense to buy this property and rent it out while the area continues to go up in value.
