Kalorama is the perfect neighborhood for families. Cozy and close to all the amenities of Dupont Circle, Kalorama real estate is some of the costliest (and most gorgeous) in the city. The neighborhood is home to the Obama family (at least until Sasha finishes high school) and many other high-profile members of D.C.’s elite.

While Kalorama itself does not have any Metro stops or restaurants and retail, it is close to both Dupont Circle and Woodley Park restaurants and retail. Close to Kalorama is the Washington Hilton, home of the famed White House Correspondents’ Dinner and community events like the Dog Pool Dip on Nov. 4th, when the hotel closes its pool for the summer and the pets come and take a quick dip.

There’s also Buca di Beppo, an…

American University Park is a very suburban neighborhood. It is named after American University, which is actually situated just south of the neighborhood. Dining and shopping options in the immediate neighborhood are scarce, but there is a Wagshal’s Market, locally owned and full of delicious food and produce. There’s also a branch of the popular Tara Thai restaurant and a CVS.

While the immediate neighborhood is more residential, AU Park is minutes from Tenleytown, which is full of fast-casual restaurants like Chick Fil A, Starbucks, José Andrés’ Beefsteak, Dunkin Donuts and more. AU Park is also conveniently located next to Friendship Heights, which also has plenty of shopping and dining options.

The time for crisp cool temperatures and warm apple cider has come! Before you start putting out your pumpkins, here are the must-do fall maintenance tips to keep your house in tip-top shape and you cozy warm during the winter.

  • Inspect and clean gutters and downspouts: The drainage system on your roof diverts thousands of gallons of water from foundation walls and your home’s exterior. Clogged gutters can lead to damaged exterior surfaces, or even worse water in your basement. We recommend cleaning your gutters, then cover them with mesh guards before the leaves start falling.

  • Seal gaps and cracks around your windows and doors: According to the U.S. Department of Energy, gaps in caulk and weather-stripping can account for 10%…
