The Logan Circle neighborhood, named for the strictly residential circle at its core, has seen a tremendous renaissance and has become one of the most densely populated neighborhoods in the District. This is reflected in Logan Circle property costs, but most residents agree: The neighborhood is well worth it.
While the neighborhood hosts all comers, the majority these days are college-educated professionals in their late twenties and early thirties. Unsurprisingly, it is rarer to find households with children in Logan Circle, but the neighborhood's busy streets allow for conveniences and nightlife not found in the District's family-friendlier neighborhoods.
The Real Estate Market
Re-done rowhouses and new high rise condos
Like neighboring Shaw, Logan Circle is ultimately named for a Union Army Commander and began to take shape and find its identity following the American Civil War. The majority of its gorgeous Victorian houses were built between 1870 and 1900. Because of the neighborhood's explosive surge in popularity over the last decade, most attached row homes have been restored, leaving few fixer-uppers to be found. In order to accommodate the influx of new residents cashing in on the ease and convenience of Logan Circle living, a number of loft-style condominiums have sprouted, including The Aston, The Eleven, Logan13, and The Radius.

If that weren't enough, walking another few blocks into the neighborhoods of U Street and Dupont Circle will get you access to their eponymous Metro stations, Trader Joe's, Yes! Organic Market, Safeway, Diego's Hair Salon, and too many restaurants and bars to count.
Letting the neighborhood give back
If you live in Logan Circle, chances are good that you work pretty hard to afford it. It's only fair then, that the neighborhood is able to care for and even pamper its residents in terms of food, drink, and entertainment. If you work a lot, make sure to live a little.
What Not to Expect
Though Logan Circle is teeming with friendly people and is predominantly residential, it's not a neighborhood where everyone knows everyone. The Logan Circle Community Association does plan some events to help neighbors socialize, block parties and street fairs are not standard. This difference between Logan Circle and somewhere like Petworth may owe to the neighborhood's thriving commercial district which attracts visitors in droves.
