Connecticut Ave NW is the commercial strip for the neighborhood, and includes Politics and Prose bookstore, Comet Ping Pong Pizza, and Bucks Fishing and Camping restaurant. Forest Hills is also home to Soapstone Valley Park, an offshoot of Rock Creek Park, as well as two great playgrounds, Forest Hills and Linnean. Also located in and around the neighborhood are the Edmund Burke School, Howard University’s School of Law, the Levine School of Music, and the Hillwood Museum.

There are also condos and co-ops available in the southern end of the neighborhood. Buying a piece of real estate here comes at a premium that residents believe is well worth the price. It's a national park-like setting combined with a quaint neighborhood feel.
Forest Hills Transportation & Location
The area has its own Metro stop, Van Ness-UDC Station on the Red Line. Both the Tenleytown-AU and Cleveland Park Stations on the Red Line are within walking distance from Forest Hills. The L1 and L2 Metrobus lines on Connecticut Ave NW provide service to Forest Hills. Connecticut Ave NW provides a direct route downtown or out into Montgomery County, Maryland, and the Capital Beltway is less than 5 miles away.
Forest Hills is located in Northwest DC, and its borders are Soapstone Valley Park to the south, Connecticut Ave NW to the west, Nebraska Ave NW to the north, and Rock Creek Park to the east.
