Parking comes at a premium in several Northwest DC neighborhoods, but that’s not necessarily the case in Petworth. Many row homes come with their their own parking behind the property or resident-only street parking. Petworth is currently going through a renaissance, with many of the nearly century-old homes being renovated and buyers snatching up properties left and right. It is often much more affordable than other Northwest DC neighborhoods to the south. Georgia Avenue NW is the center of commercial activity, with several restaurants and bars, including popular spots Chez Billy, Petworth Citizen, and Domku. The Petworth Farmers Market is a big hit with area residents, and is open every Saturday from May to October. Two parks offer recreational options to Petworth: Rock Creek Park to the west and Piney Branch Park to the southwest. If you don’t have a car, don’t worry. The neighborhood is easily accessed by Metro, with the Georgia Avenue-Petworth station at the southern end and the Fort Totten stop at the northern end.
