Waycroft-Woodlawn Property Values

Waycroft-Woodlawn's housing market is dominated by single-family homes. Of those, most are Cape Cods, Colonials, ramblers, bungalows, and cottages: all characteristic of the 1930's - 1950's when the bulk of the neighborhood's development took place. One of the civic association's concerns is the preservation of the community's original aesthetic character. They hope to keep at bay the oversized tear-downs and infill houses that draw the eye and diminish trees and green space.

For retail and dining, Waycroft-Woodlawn is within walking distance of Ballston and for recreation, Woodlawn Park is a beautiful spot for individuals and families alike.

Waycroft-Woodlawn History & Development

The area now known as Waycroft-Woodlawn was developed, like so many of it's Northern Arlington neighbors, in the years after World War I. Many new federal workers turned to Arlington to house their families as they worked in and around the District, and World War II saw the arrival of loads of defense workers, likewise in need of lodging. The current neighborhood was born of the merging of two up-and-coming subdivisions: Waycroft and Woodlawn Village. In 1936 the Waycroft-Woodlawn Civic Association was founded.

Waycroft-Woodlawn Transportation & Location

Waycroft-Woodlawn is bounded by 17th St N to the north, N Glebe Rd to the east, Custis Memorial Pkwy to the south, and N George Mason to the west.
