Edgewood Property Values
Edgewood is a friendly, oft-forgotten residential neighborhood in Northeast DC with great access to public transportation and the District as a whole. Interest in the neighborhood has grown considerably in the last decade, and prices have risen with demand. Edgewood real estate consists mostly of older row houses, but be sure to check out the newer Chancellor’s Row for beautiful, modern versions of the same style.
In the first half of the 19th Century, the neighborhood was part of the farmland estate called Metropolis View, which was included in old Washington County. During the Civil War, U.S. Treasury Secretary Salmon P. Chase built a mansion in the area and renamed the estate Edgewood.
