Summer happenings (festivals, concerts, events, etc.) in Petworth.

Petworth is a vibrant, diverse community and something always seems to be happening in the neighborhood—festivals, concerts and more. Don’t miss the Petworth Park Summer Jam happening at the Petworth Recreation Center. The music festival, brought to you by Chris Burns, ROAM and supported by the Petworth Jazz Project will last until August.

Browse for local items at the Petworth Community Market with local artists, musicians and other vendors. The market runs Saturdays through November from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Located at the corner of 9th and Upshur Sts. NW, the market is quite popular in the summer months.

Head to the recurring Yoga at the Library at the Petworth Library all summer for some beginner level asanas for adults and teens. The next class is June 13th at 7:30 p.m.

Just south of Petworth this summer will be the highly anticipated Game of Thrones pop-up bar. Eat the Rich, Mockingbird Hill and Southern Efficiency will be transformed into  and homage to the popular HBO show. The fun begins June 21st.

Get ready for some great restaurant openings in the area including the new BBQ Bus food truck’s brick and mortar shop.

Spend summer nights at the Petworth Citizen and Reading Room, grabbing a cocktail or glass of wine and a plate of food while you browse the novels and books at the popular spot.
