16th Street Heights was historically an affluent neighborhood consisting primarily of stately single-family homes along the 16th Street Corridor. It is one of the most diverse neighborhoods in the District in terms of demographics. Rentals and condos are limited in the neighborhood, but as far as home owning is concerned, 16th Street Heights is a great value for the money.

While there is no Metro station directly within the neighborhood, the Georgia Ave-Petworth and Columbia Heights Stations on the Green and Yellow Lines are just south of 16th Street Heights. Several bus lines service the area, and 16th St NW, 14th St NW, 13th St NW, and Georgia Ave NW all provide good routes to drive downtown. There is plenty of parking available, and the Capital Beltway is less than 5 miles away to the north.
