West End Features & Amenities

The neighborhood is home to some of the finest hotels and restaurants in Washington, DC. It also boasts the only Trader Joe’s in the District of Columbia. Foreign dignitaries and diplomats frequent the neighborhood, as there are a few embassies within the West End. The south end of Rock Creek Park, an area where you’ll find one of the most picturesque biking and running paths in the city, is at the west and north sides of the neighborhood. Washington Circle Park is at the south end of the neighborhood and provides a picturesque park amidst the busy city.

West End Transportation & Location 

The neighborhood does not have a Metro station within it, but the Foggy Bottom-GWU on the Blue, Orange, and Silver Lines and the Dupont Circle station on the Red Line are within short walking distance. The neighborhood has many bus lines servicing it, including the Georgetown-Union Station Circulator bus. Interstate 66 begins just south of the area and heads out into Virginia. K St NW provides a direct route to Georgetown for drivers.

The West End is located entirely within Northwest DC, and its borders are Rock Creek Park to the west and north, 22nd St NW to the east, and Pennsylvania Ave NW to the south.
