Logan Circle continues to experience a major revitalization, as redevelopment seems to be everywhere you look in the neighborhood. In large part, the transformation has been fueled by rising housing prices in neighboring Dupont Circle directly to the west.
Although Logan Circle is the only completely residential circle in downtown DC, it’s extremely well positioned to take advantage of the nearby nightlife on the U Street Corridor and Dupont Circle, as well as the many new dining and shopping options along P Street and 14th Street NW. To the east and south, Logan Circle is also short walk to the Convention Center and the Penn Quarter. Logan Circle real estate is marked by Victorian rowhouses, many of which have been divided into newly renovated condos.
Logan Circle is unique in that it doesn’t have a Metro station in the neighborhood, but is within walking distance to seven different stations in all directions. These include, clockwise starting from the north, U Street, Shaw-Howard U, and Mount Vernon Square on the Green and Yellow Lines; McPherson Sq and Farragut West on the Blue, Orange, and Silver Lines; and Farragut North and Dupont Circle on the Red Line. There are several bus lines that run through the area, including the Woodley Park-Adams Morgan-McPherson Square Circulator route. Massachusetts Ave NW, Rhode Island Ave NW, 16th St NW, and 14th St NW all provide good routes to different points of downtown and out of the city to the Maryland suburbs. Interstate 395 begins a short distance from the neighborhood, and leads either out to Virginia or to the Anacostia Freeway (DC Route 295) via I-695.
