Luxury homes in Foggy Bottom area, once a blue collar neighborhood, are some of the more expensive properties in the District. Foggy Bottom is anchored by George Washington University and sits on the eastern edge of the Potomac River, just south of upscale Georgetown.

Luxury home listings in Foggy Bottom include a good deal of condos. The Columbia Residences on L Street at 24th Street are among the many condo buildings that offer luxury living in Foggy Bottom, boasting a pool, exercise room and community center. A 2 bedroom penthouse condo there was recently listed for $1.2 million and included a private terrace, wet bar and marble tub.

Renters can also enjoy luxury living in Foggy Bottom. Luxury apartment homes in Foggy Bottom include the 925 Apartments, with a rooftop sundeck and upscale lobby. The Archstone Apartments also offer a luxury rental option. Luxury town homes here regularly sell for upwards of $1 million.

The area around the Foggy Bottom/GWU Metro station was once a light industrial area, with parking lots where now there are buildings. Foggy Bottom quickly rose with development, including the luxury homes now in the area. Luxury homes there have drawn buyers for the close proximity to downtown and Georgetown, as it’s walkable to both. Rock Creek Park, which borders Foggy Bottom to the north, offers another amenity attracting homebuyers here.

Luxury homes in Foggy Bottom are in the neighborhood of the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the U.S. State Department and the Kennedy Center. Residents near the center of Foggy Bottom, where college students at George Washington and many young professionals live for just a couple years at a time, tend to be more transient.
