Capitol View on 14th Street is among the bevy of new apartment buildings in the U Street Corridor lately, and the building have been leasing up and tenants have been moving in since last fall. The Capital View on 14th Street apartments include about 255 units, renting for between $1,881 and $5,856 for units ranging from between 580 square feet to 1,601 square feet, although the lowest priced model now listed on their website is for $2,106 for a 512-square-foot apartment.
Among the amenities at Capitol View at 14th Street are a rooftop deck and pool with a year-round fireplace and a state-of-the-art fitness center and media center/business room. The Capitol View at 14th Street building aims for a luxury feel with a Chihuly sculpture in the lobby and hardwood and quartz finishes in the apartments. Several apartments have panoramic views of the city.
Located at 2420 14th Street, Capitol View at 14 Street is tucked between the increasingly popular U Street corridor, which is ripe with night life and jazz clubs, and Columbia Heights just to the north.  It’s a nine-story building with retail on the ground floor and was developed by UDR.
So far, residents seem to enjoy living at Capitol View at 14th Street as many of the online reviews rave about the ideal location and the luxury details in the finishes. They enjoy the free wifi in the common areas and the fast, responsive elevators. Residents do, however, gripe about the cost of parking, which can run more than $225 per month.
Renting is hot in the U Street corridor, as the options for buying are limited lately as this community, like much of Washington D.C., has swung to a sellers’ market. So potential home buyers who want to wait until the housing market rebounds in their favor may want to check out apartments here like Capitol View at 14th Street.
