Deanwood is known for its small-town or even country-town vibe, bolstered by minimalist architecture on good-sized lots and ample cover from dense tree growth. It sits on land that was part of a tobacco plantation before the Civil War. Deanwood housing options consist primarily of one-story cottages and bungalows, and the occasional Colonial.
