Takoma Park was once known as a commuter suburb on the Baltimore and Ohio railroad lines in the late 1800s. Takoma actually shares a name with the Maryland city that’s located just over the border from it. Takoma Park is known for its progressive politics and green movement within the community. The homes there are a mix of Victorians, Cape Cod homes, brick colonials and more.
