Perhaps the crown jewel of Arlandria is Birchmere Music Hall. Originally opened as a restaurant and bar in South Arlington, owner Gary Oelze began booking the occasional bluegrass act to attract more customers. Arlandria Past & Present

The origins of Arlandria's name can be easily guessed by looking at a map and seeing that the neighborhood borders the city of Arlington. Arlandria was originally the name of a shopping center, and later adopted by the surrounding community. Recently the neighborhood has become better known thanks to Foo Fighters frontman, Dave Grohl. Grohl, who lived in Alexandria while in high school, spent much time in the neighborhood and mentioned it in a 1999 song and more recently recorded the song "Arlandria."

Arlandria is equidistant between Braddock Road Metro and Crystal City Metro. Jefferson Davis Hwy to the east provides access to I-395 and the District of Columbia.
