Randle Highlands History & Vision

Randle Highlands is a beautiful neighborhood, originally planned in the early twentieth century by Colonel Arthur E. Randle. He is known for developing several District subdivisions east of the Anacostia River after claiming at a London dinner party in 1899 that it was his duty to help make the District the most beautiful city in the world. Though he did not live long enough to realize this dream, he said, 'I intend to make of Randle Highlands what Brooklyn is to New York City.'

Randle Highlands Transportation & Location

Randle Highlands has no Metro Station, however, the Anacostia Metro Station on the Green line is located nearby in the Buena Vista neighborhood. Pennsylvania Ave SE provides quick access into Capitol Hill and beyond.

Randle Highlands is bounded by Pennsylvania Ave SE to the north, 33rd St SE to the east, Naylor Rd SE to the south, and Minnesota Ave SE to the west.
