Colonial Village Features & Amenities
Colonial Village is completely residential, as commercial real estate is not allowed. However, Silver Spring, Maryland is a very short walk to the northeast and provides all the amenities of a suburban city, including grocery stores, restaurants, shopping, and theaters. Rock Creek Park and its trails are a big drawing point for Colonial Village residents.
Colonial Village Property Values
Colonial Village is the northernmost neighborhood in the District of Columbia, and is noted for its seamless transition into the northern end of Rock Creek Park. The 1930’s subdivision got its name because the original homes were designed to look like authentic colonial residences from the 17th and 18th Century. Colonial Village real estate still mostly consists of brick and stone colonial homes. According to history, the area was once a part of Virginia that was given to Maryland all the way back in 1629.
