Woodland Features & Amenities
The neighborhood of Woodland is reasonably close to the Anacostia Historic District which has the most diverse offereings in the area, including a museum, a theater, dining and shopping, and Frederick Douglass National Historic Site.
Woodland History & Housing
Though a church in the neighborhood has stood since 1925, the area now known as Woodland remained mostly undeveloped until the 1960's. Prior to that, as the name suggests, the area contained one of DC's last vestiges of unprotected forest. The largest development within the community is an apartment complex known as Woodland Terrace and much of other the housing stock is similar within this small neighborhood in Southeast DC.
Woodland Transit & Location
Woodland has no Metro Station, however, Anacostia Metro Station on the Green Line is located nearby in the Anacostia neighborhood.
Woodland is bounded by Skyland Pl SE to the north, 25th St SE to the east, Hartfort St SE to the south, and Suitland Pkwy to the west.
