Douglass boasts the highest point in all of Southeast DC. Sitting barely a mile south of his homestead, Cedar Hill, the neighborhood is named for American abolitionist, Frederick Douglass. While it is a relatively small neighborhood and almost totally residential, it is well situated near Congress Heights Metro Station, a Giant supermarket, the YMCA, and Anacostia Historic District which serves as the area’s business district.
