Cleveland Park 1-Bedroom Condos
Bloomingdale 3-Bedroom Row Homes
Finding the right amount of space for an affordable price is a real challenge these days in DC. If you’re looking for an area that can do just that, Bloomingdale could be the perfect fit for you. The neighborhood is one of the smallest in the District, yet offers many three-bedroom row homes that are usually far more affordable than other parts of Northwest. Noted for its proximity to the U.S. Capitol building, Howard University, and downtown DC, Bloomingdale has been on the rise for the last few years, especially with the revitalization of nearby Shaw and NoMa. While there is no Metro stop within the neighborhood, the Shaw-Howard University stop on the yellow/green lines and the Rhode Island Avenue and NoMa-Gallaudet stops on the red line are a short…
Row Homes with Rental Unit in H Street Corridor
The H Street Corridor is one of the hottest neighborhoods in Washington, DC right now. Investors are spending time and money in the area, and home and condo prices are on the rise. Buying a row home in the H Street Corridor with a rental unit is a smart and economical decision, as it allows the buyer to help defray mortgage costs with a renter. The neighborhood is just north of prestigious Capitol Hill, although prices are usually lower than its southern counterpart. Union Station borders the H Street Corridor to the west, and the new DC Streetcar lines will debut along H Street, connecting Union Station to the Minnesota Avenue Metro stop. The Corridor is a hot spot for live music, with several smaller venues to see a show in. There is also a newfound…

Trinidad 4-Unit Properties
Trinidad is an up-and-coming Northeast neighborhood that is becoming a sought-after destination for affordable housing in the District, although that affordability may not last for long. There are several larger properties in the neighborhood that have been renovated and turned into four-unit condominium complexes. These offer much more affordable options than similar units in Northwest DC and other parts of Northeast. The completely remodeled condos offer a good option for those who want to be in a newer property and don’t need the space that comes with owning a house. Situated just north of the trendy H Street Corridor, Trinidad has had a resurgence in just the last five years. While it pales in comparison to H Street NE with retail and dining options,…
August 2014 Newsletter
August often brings a slight decline in sales activity in Washington, DC. It is a prime vacation month for area residents as they seek to escape the District for cooler climates, beaches, and mountains. Congress is also out of session which means thousands of DC residents have more leisure time to take these vacations. As such, fewer people are looking to buy than there were earlier in the summer and spring. It also means fewer listings normally appear on the market than in other warmer months of the year. However, the good news is that so far this summer there are more listings on the market than there were a year ago in Washington, DC. The challenge in 2014 is that the median sales price has gone up, and this may account for the fact that the number of…
