For starters, fresh off their 60 Minutes interview, the Sistine Chapel choir will be stopping by the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. The choir will be participating in their first U.S. tour in 30 years.

Those new to the neighborhood can get involved with the Brookland Neighborhood Civic Association. The association helps to keep Brookland a vibrant neighborhood by maintaining an active calendar of events.

Cool off in these waning days of summer at the Turkey Thicket Aquatic Center, one of the city’s premiere indoor aquatic centers. Located in the center of the neighborhood, there are “Learn to Swim” classes for youth to seniors, as well as water aerobics and lifeguard training. There’s a 6-lane, 25 yard configuration pool perfect for getting your laps in.
