Benning Features & Properties
Benning, named for William Benning, the prominent landowner on the east side of the Anacostia, whom some speculate was a retired sea pirate, is a small neighborhood in Northeast DC. While still predominantly residential, the neighborhood, which is blessed with its own Metro Station, plays host to a fair number of businesses that serve the surrounding neighborhoods, including a Safeway. Benning's housing options consist of a fairly even blend of garden apartments and brick rowhouses, with a sprinkling of detached homes.

Benning is serviced by the Benning Rd Metro Station on the Blue and Silver Lines. Minnesota Ave Metro Station is also nearby for those traveling on the Orange Line.
