Originally named for Knox Hill public housing, Knox Hill is a small neighborhood in Southeast DC. It’s housing options are almost all multi-family, though there are a few foursquares along Alabama Ave SE. The neighborhood is too small to support much business or recreation, nearby communities have much to offer. Douglass, to the west, hosts Douglass Recreation Center which features and outdoor pool; and Anacostia, to the north, includes the area’s business district with shops, restaurants, a theater, a museum, and the Frederick Douglass National Historic Site.
