Schools in Foggy Bottom community in Northwest D.C. include schools George Washington University and nearby Georgetown University and several elementary schools in walking distance.
By far, George Washington University assumes the dominant position among schools in Foggy Bottom, with the campus consuming several square blocks south of K Street between roughly 24th Street and 20th Street. The renowned Georgetown University is in walking distance in adjacent Georgetown. The Schools Without Walls Home School Association is also based in Foggy Bottom.
Foggy Bottom is anchored between the Capitol and Georgetown, situated along the Potomac River. Listings near schools in the Foggy Bottom have been declining since October, when there were about 100 properties here on the market, as sales have been increasing.
There are no elementary schools in Foggy Bottom, but residents here are near Thomson Elementary School near Franklin Park and Hyde-Addison Elementary School in Georgetown, two strong schools in the District.
Current listings include a $250,000, 1BR condo at 2475 Virginia Avenue, a $240,000, 640-square-foot studio, also at 2510 Virginia Avenue and a $254,500, 1BR on 24th Street. Apartments and condos dominate the housing market here, and many of them are on the more affordable end of the District’s real estate listings.
Properties here lack large yards, but offer a number of amenities that attract buyers, including the proximity to the Mall and Georgetown and very close to several Metro stations, including Foggy Bottom and Farragut West. And of course these properties are close to two of the nation’s best university schools in Foggy Bottom.
